Cactus
A cactus is part of a family of plants called succulent plants, which
are accustomed to dry, arid climates. Because of their water-retaining
properties, some cacti can be watered only three times a year and survive
– which makes them very popular home/office plants.
A cactus may require little attention, but here are some tips that
ensure the plant’s success:
• The plant should be in direct sunlight at all times
• Replace the top inch of soil with gravel
• Make sure the pots have a good drainage system
• Repotted plants have more chances of falling victim to rot.
However visually-appealing it is, a cactus is still a mildly dangerous
decoration. Never put the plant in where a small child could reach it
or in any precarious location where an animal could knock it off. A
hand full of spines is not pleasant for anyone!
