Cactus flower

A cactus flower is very unique compared to other flowers. Rather than resting on a stem, petals sit on the rim of a hollow tube that holds inner stamins, the cilia-like stems that hold the plant’s pollen. Often, the flowers only bloom for a couple hours a day (or life), making the plant’s reproductive life very delicate.

A cactus flower can come in a variety of colors, including:
• Red
• White
• Yellow
• Purple

A cactus flower will vary in color depending on the family of plant. For instance, a barrel cactus usually has orange blossoms, but a saguaro is known for its bright red flowers.
